The heart of the Gothic Line

The Gothic Line was thedefensive system built in 1944 all along the Central Apennines by the German troops in order to block the advancing Allies. Today it’s the core centre of the “places of the memory” and represents a commemorative dimension of war and Resistance. The territory of Badia Tedalda, in Valtiberina, was considered strategically important by the Germans and today represents the “heart” of the Gothic Line.
